The 6th Bamboo Cup
Tournament at "Pugu Hills" on March 29th, 2008 was
as predicted VERY TENSE.
In a thundering Final, the
Newcomers "SugarRays" beat 2 time Winners VIKINGS
and stopped them from taking the Bamboo Cup for
good.
Only through a "Sudden
Death" shoot out, with the regular 5 penalties
still not revealing the strongest team,
"SugarRays" managed their nerves best and got the
VIKINGS down. Most teams were impressed by their
confidence as first time participants, against the
"old guard".
Clear Channel (previously
Blue Mango) was well aware of the higher demands
in 2008 and added some strong players to their
squad, unfortunately not enough to improve or at
least repeat their 2007 second place, they did
beat the Dutch in the runners-up final end ended
third this year.
Holiday Inn clearly improved
their skills compared to last year and are still
strong contenders for a semi-final place next year
together with the French who definitly showed the
strongest Team Cohesion inside and outside the
field.
